@gleick (Quite?) A few years ago I read a piece that suggested the headlines starting with numbers was something that got the attention of Millennials. That was the entire idea behind the popularity of BuzzFeed-like tripe.
Me being of an older generation, this was not my favored format. That being said, I'll sometimes read articles that promise a small number of takeaways (3-5) but skip anything that promises 8 or more.
