Before you mentioned it, I expected even if it were to open fully they'd have been struggling. But if even if a trickle of more users is causing problems, they have much more work ahead to be ready.
My greatest advice to those concerned: Start archiving. If you come across something you believe is valuable: make a copy.
If you follow a guide on how to install and configure software and you found it helpful: make a copy.
If you come across a video you really enjoy and find yourself coming back to again and again: make a copy.
If it means anything to you: make a copy, or you'll wish you did.

@EricaFriedman Can't speak to Bluesky firsthand yet, as still on the wait list. Which has been the case since the takeover.
That said, the decline of Twitter is going far faster by the day than the ability for people to jump ship for Bluesky.
The gated nature of the beta also limits readability for anyone not there, unless cross posted or quoted elsewhere. Which renders it I think somewhat pointless, at least short term.

I'm a cis guy, and I want to write a #transmasc appreciation post, because I've learned a lot from listening to trans masc people.
Navigating masculinity is hard, in ways I never would have thought to articulate, if it weren't for the trans men and nonbinary people exploring and defining their own masculinities.
You guys have shown how to love - others and yourselves - how to be tender, how to show courage, how strength and vulnerability aren't opposites but are instead connected. You've made visible ideas that our society tries really, really hard to keep invisible.
And a lot of you are snappy dressers, too. And why are you all so handsome?
Anyway, just wanted to say I love and appreciate you #transmasculine folks out there. We need you in the world. My world is made better having you in it.

It's great that many folks have already transitioned off Twitter fully, but acting like using Twitter right now is an endorsement of Elon's (very real) fascism and war on journalism isn't it.

Many marginalized folks have community support infrastructure there that can't simply be ported.
Please understand, community migration is SO much more fraught than individual migration.
If there's a railroad strike, it'll go a long way towards showing who means what they say about supporting workers, or any significant societal change for that matter
A major strike will have a direct impact on your life. We can't make progress for worker's rights if we're not willing to give up the comforts and privileges we gain from their oppression. The same goes for almost any major disruption to the status quo. Ending our dependence on imperialist, capitalist, and environmental exploitation will be hard. It will be uncomfortable. It will even be painful. That's not a reason not to do it
Your neighbors will need support, and you probably will too. Start planning and building community infrastructure and support systems now
