Happy holidays everyone! Just wanted to say I didn’t forget about my art, I just crushed my drawing hand helping move a solid wood dresser. It got trapped between the dresser and the door frame and squished 4 fingers, luckily none broke! I’m waiting for the muscle tremors to stop before I get back to creating, and I’m excited to get back to my art. Hopefully you all are having a smoother season, and I wish us all luck in our future endeavors!
7 years ago, I started #artAdventCalendar with a tweet with the idea that things were somewhat dark and bleak and it would be nice to improve everyone’s Twitter timelines by posting and retweeting a bunch of art. Last we had 552 submitting participants sharing over 8,000 images; almost 12,000 people who shared almost 80,000 tweets. Since Twitter may not even be around by Dec 1, I'm going to see what we can do on here. Hope you join in #art #artist Full details > https://earthskyart.ca/artadventcalendar/

In its 11th year, #artadventcalendar participants post an original piece of art from Dec 1-24. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, textiles, beading, photography. If it’s art and it beautifies th…

I’m back with another #Inappropriatleynamedbirds #Watercolor #Painting and today is a Rough Faced Shag. Definitely another fun one to say hehe. Since my new supplies arrived I used Sakura Micron waterproof archival pens, Canson cold press watercolor paper, and due to positive Amazon reviews I bought the Jerry Q brush set and was not disappointed!
Since I didn’t make anything new today due to my brain short circuiting, here’s my favorite assignment from my Human and Animal Form class in college. We were each assigned a picture from our class textbook to recreate as accurately as possible. I enjoyed that class immensely #Art #Anatomyart #Sketch
Just finished my next #Inappropriatleynamedbirds #Watercolor #Bird #Painting, it’s a Hoary Puffleg! Today I was using my Copic 0.5 and 0.3 waterproof fine liner pens. They are amazing for comic artists as well! Tomorrow I’m taking a break for Turkey Day, but the series will continue after the food coma.
Just a warm reminder for those of us dealing with #HolidayDepression, don’t forget about taking care of yourself along with everyone else. #Loss can be difficult to bear at these times we used to spend with them. My people’s belief is that our loved ones spirits watch over us as we continue our journey, and our ancestors watch our journey with pride that some of us are still here. Even if you feel lost right now, keep on your journey please. This Mamma Dragon loves you all!

I've been photographing the night sky with my Pixel 6 Pro trying to find an eerie space where the ground and the sky meet...
Here are a few from last night.
For todays #inappropriatleynamedbirds #watercolor #painting I present a pair of Fluffy-BackedTit-Babblers. Which is just fun to say. Yesterday I was using cheap paper I was gifted, but today I used my Winsor & Newton paints on proper heavyweight cold pressed paper. I also ordered over 30 new brushes and about 5 different styles of watercolor paper. This is turning into a fun product testing project. In case anyone is wondering, I’m using waterproof Zebra brush pens for lining.

A Pyramid Of Otters.

Mum and her two cubs had just returned from hunting out in the loch, and were busy grooming themselves and each other, when a noisy farm vehicle thundered by along the road nearby.

All three looked in that direction, and gave me the opportunity to capture this image.

Such beautiful creatures, though not to be messed with, as they're skilled predators.
