John Prine while telling stories, “We song writers don’t keep regular hours.” I thought of clergy…in some way we are story tellers, story weavers, story listeners, story forgivers, story deliverers and thank God none of us keep regular hours.
Let us remember The #Mashantucket #Pequots of the Algonquin and The #Wampanoag of #Noepe - these are only two of the first peoples upon whose land we stand. Let us remember them with honor, with sadness for what was done to them, for for wisdom about the rightful place of indigenous people in history and our country, and act with justice to all first people and creation. #Indigenous people need be remembered in the true light of history and cultural importance to our nation.
Every unjust unwarranted death is cruciform. We continue our prayers and love this day for #ClubQ victims and their families. The hate which caused this event, the hate now glommed onto the event, and the deaths themselves will not have the last word! Instead the grace, beauty, and power of eternal #love embraces each victim and has the last word of inextricable unity with #God. This is the radical proclamation over and against the culture of violence that presently engulfs the world.
#Prayers for the living: Lord who created the blue of the ocean, give safe passage to those at sea, who namelessly bring cargo to our ports, who live without families for meager wages, and for whom we all depend. When we pick up produce help us be mindful and grateful for its arrival.
The mystery of Eucharist is a web of bodily and spiritual experiences woven into our cosmos; and, are part of experiencing heaven and the other side of the eschaton. Help us not consume for our own needs alone, but our life with others, so that they are woven into God’s embrace.
