In other news heb ik in mijn homelab inmiddels een representatieve en werkende mastodon setup als testomgeving voor mastodon.nl.
Al sinds november 2022 zijn grotere upgrades op mastodon.nl een beetje te spannend omdat we geen goed gelijkende testomgeving hadden. Voor de kleinere updates was dat niet erg, maar er moeten ook weer een keer grotere zaken aangepakt worden. Zoals de upgrade van Debian11 systemen naar Debian12.
Maar nu kan dit dus goed getest/geprobeerd worden. Nice

Today I had my second Raspberry Pi 4 die on me in a couple of weeks. Both having issues with the USB controller it seems, so it cannot reliable use the USB boot disk. This leaves just one Pi4 still at work. The tasks running on the Pi4 that gave in were moved to an older Mac Mini. Hopefully this will continue to run for some time to come.

(Publieke) organisaties maken op dit moment keuzes die op micro schaal en op korte termijn economisch voordelig zijn. Met als gevolg dat we op macro schaal (NL/EU) niet meer investeren in kennis, vaardigheden en infra die van cruciaal belang zijn voor onze onafhankelijkheid.
