As a result of their loss, fabrics and the like are far cheaper in terms of average hours worked to pay for them, than they were. The same goes for any time a labour saving tool is used to displace outmoded techniques. And in spite of all that, there are more people employed today than ever in history. Labour saving tools merely freed up labour for other tasks.
It feels a bit ghoulish to jump in on another server's closure but for those who need a new home now that mastodon.lol is shutting down, we still have plenty of room to grow on retro.pizza!
