Fixed. Thanks for calling that out. I never thought about that. Sorry it took me so long to respond, I had to figure out how to prevent my notifications from being flooded with all of the boosting and favoriting on my post.

Our stories are everything. Why aren't saving them from vanishing?

Everyone has a stake in the national institutions, so why aren't we saving them?

#Genealogy Well, Amy Johnson Crow just posted her #52Ancestors themes for 2023. She also notes the option for #12Ancestors in 12 months. She included some unusual #FamilyHistory prompts this year, such as "should be a movie" - take a look: https://www.amyjohnsoncrow.com/52-ancestors-in-52-weeks-themes-2023/

In #Scotland it's not possible to amend birth, marriage or death records in an original register once recorded, but later amendments can be written into a Register of Corrections, Etc (previously the Register of Corrected Entries). In these since 1855 you might find name changes, details of paternity cases from the courts naming fathers, updates to causes of death after a procurator fiscal has investigated, etc. RCE rcords are free to view on ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk #genealogy #Geneadons
I have just found my 4th great-grandmother on Ancestry ... so I guess this means I’ll be able to go down into the country whenever I choose.

I added this to my profile.

"If it is interesting, boost it. You are not on Twitter"

There is no algorithm to help us here #Mastodon. So if you believe others should see it, #boost it. A favourite is just an individual token of appreciation.

This is one of my key learnings from a couple of weeks here...

I won't say The Legal Genealogist is fully back in the saddle just yet, but at least I have officially reported that I am homehomehomehome. https://www.legalgenealogist.com/2022/11/21/homehomehomehome/

"Hi, honey! I'm hoooooome!" Yeah, The Legal Genealogist knows it's been a looooong time. But moving to another state at the same time as a long-planned-long-delayed vacation-and-conference trip to Australia is happening can really put a crimp in a blogger's schedule. No, it wasn't supposed
