In 03, FCC ruled you could transfer (or "port") your phone number when switching carriers.

Wonder if there could be a way to transfer your content, preferences, user name, etc. between social media firms? Since these firms will just rise and fall faster and faster. https://twitter.com/mkirschenbaum/status/1587550757058138112

“Unspoken in all the academic flutter about leaving Twitter is this simple truth: I’ve spent a decade and a half (!!) building reputation capital (to what end, you can judge) in this place. If I leave, NONE of that is portable. It is my labor, and I’m not abdicating it lightly.”

Finished and submitted my #AEFP proposal today. Looking forward to it already!
Good at business guy buys a company which derives its value from audience and content creators and immediately gets work antagonizing and insulting both after purchasing the company with a massive amount of debt.
Says the guy who literally just overpaid for this very site on nothing more than a childish troll bit and is now facing a hell of a debt interest payment for his new toy.

Interesting paper JMP that, in conjunction with other work, highlights the need for some slack resources and capacity in areas that accept refugees/immigrants and the need for adding resources quickly during a surge. Otherwise, the surge in service demand can have (-) spillovers.

Checked the #Patreon page for #Mastodon again just now. We are tantalizingly close to the current fundraising goal, with $11,375 of $12,000 raised. Join me in donating. We can hit the target easily if enough of the #twittermigration #twexit #influx chip in. Let's get @Gargron and team to $12k per month.

The money parties spend trying to get votes from folks like this and trying infer their policy preferences from polls and election results is just incredibly funny when you think about while listening to segments like this.

Listening to the BBC and a "swing voter" appears to be blaming Joe Biden for not bringing down the cost of parking at the aquarium in Boston.

Our voting-selfie tradition continues with a reminder to vote today New Yorkers! In Albany, you have until 8 pm today and then can vote early through Sunday!
Hell of an externality of "bad governance and public processes."
Lol, gonna be really funny if the minoritarian coalition of Left and Right NIMBY busy-bodies in blue cities exploiting environmental laws and bad processes in municipal government are driving most of the inflation and its consequent interest rate responses from the Fed. By

If I'm not mistaken (always possible), over the past three months a full two-thirds of the inflation over the Fed's 2% target has come from shelter.
