I have signed @ARC_Tracker's petition to raise the PhD stipend -

https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN5085

It's not financially sensible to become a PhD student, especially in Australia. The one PhD student I had from my DECRA quit, he couldn't make ends meet and uni finance didn't let me raise his stipend. Then I quit too.

Printed and installed a PTFE tube Y-splitter that I downloaded from @[email protected]. It prints with threads that screw directly on to standard pneumatic connectors. Now the X1 Carbon can print TPU without disconnecting the AMS. First TPU print is the clear octopus (also from Printables), and it is satisfyingly squishy!
the problem of adapter contamination in NCBI's carp genome has been known for >10 years; you'd think at some point the webpage would be updated to say 'hey it looks like you got adapters there'

I gave up preparing a health research grant as my father was just diagnosed with the very disease in question–impossible to rationally focus on the topic.

Has anyone else ever been through something similar?

I'm delighted to present the 40th paper in my career.🥳
