I was reminded recently about a talk Dr. Monique Morris gave about Black girls getting pushed out of schools for disciplinary issues. This is very much connected to the issues of having police officers, code named โ school resource officers, stationed in schools. Many studies have connected police in schools to the school-to-prison pipeline. Today, Iโll talk about the problems with cops in schools. 1/6
The issue Republicans have against the #transgender community isn't that they disagree. Because in order to disagree with something you have to first understand that thing.
Same goes for any community whose entire existence is predicated on pushing against a progressive narrative.
#education is so important and we need to expand our currently outdated and crumbling education system to include these subjects and deny bigotry an entrance into young minds.
Hi everyone!
Feels good to be out of Twitter and in what is hopefully a much less toxic environment for discussion on topics from food and music to politics and social injustices.
I wasn't innocent on Twitter in that I participated in the toxic rhetoric, albeit for the right causes (pro-choice, pro-LGBTQIA+, etc.). It was not healthy or helpful for me or the causes I was supporting.
Anyway, excited to see what this community has to offer!
