Eternal AppSec noob. Adrenaline junkie. Meme lord.

Yes. I'm middle class, and I have unrealized gains. About $13,000 worth. My Robinhood account was $33K on Jan 1 this year and is now worth about $46K, but I have not sold anything.

I imagine a lot of middle class people have unrealized gains. But they won't be affected by Harris's proposed tax, because middle class people don't have $100M. If you do, you're *definitely* not middle class.

@Miriamm Holy hell, it's been an entire year already?

Back in high school, at one of the computer labs, I created a Powerpoint that looked like a DOS session where someone had deleted C:\WINDOWS. I made it two pages of the same text, with the second page having an underscore at the end of the prompt, and then started the slideshow with automatic slides, so it looked like the cursor was blinking.

A teacher saw it and thought that I broke the computer and reported me, even when I showed all they had to do was hit Escape. My punishment ended up being two weeks of hanging out with the school IT guy for half of my lunch period as he went around and fixed broken computers.

When I told him (and showed him) what I did, he thought it was hilarious. We became good buddies.

Manager-with-zero-sense-of-irony: "wow you all got a lot done while I was on vacation!"

@petergleick "The surprising thing is that 100% of delivered cybertrucks is only 3,878 vehicles."

Tesla has a very well-recorded track record of being extremely slow to ramp up production of any of their vehicles.

Supposedly, there are 400,000 reservations. But seeing as that number comes from Elon's mouth, I'm sure it's much lower than that.

@dholm @ned My understanding is that the billionaire class just keeps letting the interest pile up with the intent that their assets get sold to cover the debt when they die.

The usual answer is "Because they use the money for charity!"

No they don't. If they were, the spent money would be tax-deductible, and then they wouldn't pay any tax!

In other words, if your church is paying taxes, then it means the money is not being used for charitable purposes.

This is the right time of year to remind you that the IRS will not call you to tell you that you made a mistake on your taxes, your social security number has been frozen, and a warrant for your arrest has been issued. Also, you cannot pay your taxes with gift cards of any type. If anybody calls you making any of these claims, it's a scam. Hang up.

I imagine that everyone on this network knows this already. But think about some of your relatives. Do they know?

This is a good time to remind them.

@malwaretech Some people simply don't know how to have fun. They think any time that isn't spent being productive is time wasted.

Screw that. I can't wait to retire and have 7 days a week off. But I don't have the money yet to make that happen.
