Apple tech folks, please start asking now what happens to data like that facial scan you have to take to use it. Ask now, not later.

"I trust Apple" isn't an anwer.

NOTE: Apple said OpticID and tracking data will stay on device. The facial scan was not covered at all.

A lad I work with built a thing called Donation Genie—a website that displays the items that are most needed at each specific food bank across the UK.

The BBC have very kindly done a nice write-up about what it is, why it’s needed, and what it hopes to achieve. If you are in the UK, please boost this to help get the link to those who need it.

Prepare to be assimilated…

I think if Bluesky had launched in November, I would have been curious. But I've been here for 5 months now and there's been a noticeable change in my physical well-being, including a drop in blood pressure.

The idea of a recreated twitter experience (with all the drama and mess) holds much less appeal for me now that my body's self-regulation is more stable.

May a thousand platforms bloom or whatever, I just hope there isn't a mass migration away from here. I'd be sad to lose this place.

"Egrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention."

Actually, these are NOT too few to mention. There were a LOT of egrets on the marsh that day. This is just a fraction of them.
