@markusl @brainpilgrim @dipolecat @ator @actuallyautistic I myself learned why I started masking in the first place; I experienced a couple of hurtful rejections after letting it slip. It might still be worth the try, though. After all, you have your wife‘s support and maybe one or two reliable friends (that‘s what helped me).
@[email protected] Good question. It does, but maybe less so. There might be fewer job titles or substantives in general ending with -ist in German. Dentist and artist for example are different.
@marenf @[email protected] Afaik there‘s no cultural or historical difference. Maybe a high-level linguistic one I‘m not aware of. I think it‘s just me disliking the sound of „-isch“ at the end of German adjectives.
@[email protected] Strangely enough, in English I like calling myself autistic rather than autist. In German, I like Autist more than autistisch. It‘s weird.
@[email protected] „I worry about over-doing it and annoying people“ sounds strangely familiar. Gotta take some time and think about where I‘ve heard that before😬
@[email protected] This weekend, that‘s great news, I can order today😍. Last time that info was more prominent, either on their page or maybe you tooted it. Thanks for letting me know. The limit is no problem, I want at least three anyway😎.
@[email protected] Bought some shirts a couple of weeks ago (btw delivery from UK to Germany took only 6 days👍🏻). I liked spending my money within the autistic community. I would love you to carry on, I‘m waiting for the next „free shipping“-phase to order more 😬. And telling my young clients and their parents about your shop. You‘re making a difference.

Is this behaviour/personanality classed as introvert? (I’m also an introvert)

What’s the distinction between introvert and autism here?

@Autistrain @actuallyautistic @neurodiversity Reminds me of the legendary article Jim Sinclair wrote in 1993, 30 years ago. I think we made progress since then on a societal level. The individual level is another story I guess.
