I made a baby-sized quilt today for my niece. Her shower theme was "punk princess" so I decided what's more punk than "baby's first battle blankie" for mom and dad to start the patch collection early. And I decided it had to be made using only repurposed fabric scraps for that extra bit of punk depth.

Just needs a final wash & ironing before I send it off to her.

She's due 3 days after my 40th 😲 we're currently taking bets on if she'll be early or not. 🗓️

🪡: Stretchy soft denim outer, durable cotton fabric backing.

Fellow Furries... I need a ref sheet but I have no clue where to start. I cannot draw for shit, so making one myself is out of the question.

Who are some trustworthy folks with an open commission slot that might be able to help me bring my trash gryphon fantasy to life for a reasonable price?

I'll be at the VCF Swap Meet in NJ on Saturday morning. I'm bringing along 2 Mac LC's & 1 Mac LCII; all three untested since 2002ish, but otherwise in great physical condition.

Spouse is bringing along a tested & fully working Quadra 700.

If you're interested in taking any of those items home with you, drop me a message or look for the blue-haired raccoon!

@5 That's a nifty idea! But I don't own any pattern socks...

Got another one today, addressed to {typically-male spouse's first name} and {my full first and middle names} {last name}...

I'm going to need my county's Democratic Committee to DO FUCKING BETTER.

It's already annoying as fuck that I've had to re-apply to be a mail-in voter five times since I changed my name in January. My county's election official can't figure out why the PA Dept of State keeps undoing my mail-in voter status.

It's discouraging to get election mail about retaining abortion rights & the rights of Pennsylvanians to be themselves, only to see the mailer addressed as "{typically-male spouse's name} and {my gender-ambiguous first name} {last name}". 👀

Not "{last name} Household"...
Not "Postal Customer"...
Not "Pennsylvania Voters"...

Pennsylvanians for Judicial Fairness needs to seriously consider how their addressing scheme completely misses the mark that's right in their name - fairness. How do you promote fairness with a specific emphasis on the rights of uterus-having persons, if your addressing standards align more closely with 1950s social importance etiquette norms than The Emily Post Institute's Guide to Adressing Correspondence (which states a woman's name precedes a man's in an address, or in situations of non-traditional relationships where there is a lack of traditional gender roles the 'higher ranking' member of the couple is always listed first)?

If Doug Demuro doesn't already have a fursona, he's giving strong "excitable Husky" energy in today's Audi video.
As someone that uses Google Home as assistive technology, it is rage-inducing levels of annoying when basic tasks like controlling lights stops working randomly for hours at a time. Then to find out I also can't reboot any displays or minis from the app to troubleshoot... 🤬
Pennsylvanians, today is the first day CVS is offering the new 2025-2026 COVID vaccine! Get yours today! 💉

It feels like a kick in the face to get an almost $500 bill for lab work I had July becuase insurance denied the claim as out-of-network services. Services performed at a lab that was in-network two months prior...

I know that because I had the exact same labwork done at the exact same facility in both March and April, both of those claims were paid as in-network. In fact, the facility was recommended as the nearest and lowest cost option by my insurer!

Suddenly, now it's out-of-network? No warning, no notification, not even a courtesy email?

I guess now I have to spend extra time cross-checking every facility and lab test with my insurance before every single visit, becuase apparently what's in-network one month magically becomes out-of-network two months later.
