Thrilled to have been included on this paper led by Niamh Cahill. We propose a #Bayesian time series model for catchment scale #hydroclimate reconstructions. The paper makes use of the Palaeowise database of Australasian #climate proxy data (the first paper to use the database 🙌) https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/env.2786
5,700 years of sea-level change in Micronesia hint at humans arriving much earlier than we thought

A new analysis of deep soil sediments accumulated in the mangroves of Pohnpei and Kosrae islands reveals a potentially different history of human arrival in this oceanic region.

Our trip to #AQUA22 begins (Melbourne > Adelaide). Otway, Great Ocean Road, Glenelg River. Impressive landscapes across Gunditjmara country, western VIC 🐍
@nathanaelcbr good idea!

I hate carrying coring equipment in the field.

What do you folks use to make it easier?!

Tootverse #introduction :

I'm a geoscientist, physical geographer, geomorphologist, glaciologist, paleoclimatologist, geochemist, modeller, data scientist – depending on your definition and my focus at the time.

Based in Melbourne (Wurundjeri land 🦘), I mostly investigate the behaviour of the #Antarctic ice sheet in the geological past to better understand its response to a changing #climate, and the corresponding impact on #sealevel rise.

Beyond science, I like 🚴⚽ 🛶 🍺 🧀 🎧🏕️
