Sheltered workshops are meant to employ disabled adults as they prepare to enter the regular workforce. In Missouri, these workers rarely graduate to higher-paying jobs.

#introduction! I research and practice #accessibleDesign in virtual environments and technology as a research associate at the Royal College of Art in London. After several years working as a designer for a major sportswear company, my personal experience with disability (I'm #deaf) and inaccessible environments led me to change my focus to work on making emerging technologies deeply #inclusive and #accessible for everyone. #a11y #inclusiveDesign
