A coworker asked me if I had big plans for the fall. It took me way too long to realize they meant “Autumn” and not the collapse of civilization…

We went to out to the Camas National Wildlife Refuge (near Hamer, Idaho) this evening and saw five of these porcupines waddling around eating off the ground. I watched and photographed this one for awhile. Apparently, it had enough.

NEW: I wrote for @cnn about why banning TikTok is stupid, dangerous, unconstitutional, a gift to Mark Zuckerberg, politically foolish, and a huge distraction from what lawmakers should actually be doing to protect us: privacy and antitrust legislation https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/16/opinions/tiktok-ban-congress-privacy-law-greer-ctpr/index.html

One of the sites I publish ads to has a "captcha" that is a simple math problem. Eg., what is 18 + 2?

Come on, you think a robot can't do math?! It's their first language!

best use of #thermochromics ever:

Toady’s emergency lunchtime dipping sauce (for samosas):

Splash of apple cider vinegar
Equal splash of water
Drizzle of olive oil
Several drops of Frank’s Hot Sauce

Stir together and pour into Jack-in-the-Box BBQ sauce (in a cup), blending to taste.

Made from local resources scrounged from the kitchen at work.

It worked really well!

I drew this in 2020, posted it on the birdsite, and it went viral (at least by my standards!), earning me 250 new followers.

It shows how much battery various stars would have left if they had battery indicators like phones do. #MastoArt

I'm spamming this on all my socials because I am proud AF of this masterpiece of #knitting
