During the remaining six months of 2023, I've set a goal to revisit some of the most impactful management books that have left a mark on my journey. Care to join me?

Ever wondered what I do all day? It’s not usually this, but watch me work live on #designsystem migrations for the #gitlab Pajamas migration day.

@dboehmer

Here's the discussion around this. It's not a dedicated feaure, but a part of a larger one so there's no specific issue for it. This should show the progress though:

@jtruk I think I’ll die happy if the last thing I hear before I go is, “this is the human who made us draw bananas with an uncomfortable amount of teeth”
@dboehmer not at my desk right now but I’ll find the issues for you in the morning

@dboehmer we may be adding that feature to the global search very soon.

Open up search, type in #1234 and it will take you to that issue. It’s not there yet, but we’re working on it as part of a command palette feature.

@jtruk mission impizzable is incredible. That one was literally, “Tom Cruise working in a kebab shop”. It was the first thing a friend could think of when I told him it could create anything you can imagine.

Young Dwight Schrute is also close. It was “The child of Dwight Scrute and Phillis Vance, holding a beetroot”

There’s been a couple of odd results, but most of the time it’s been exactly what I had in my head.

I’ll put the photo descriptions on shortly. Don’t want to spoil them yet.

I’ve been playing with #midjourney this week and the results are mind blowing. Being able to visualise my stream of consciousness is a really strange feeling.

See if you can guess the prompts for these images:

As promised, here are the slides and transcript from my talk last week. I’ve re-titled it, “Lessons from Leadership” and it’s the closing chapter on my time as Acting Chief of Staff to the CTO at #GitLab

Talk: Lessons from Leadership

This week, I gave the first talk with no code in the slides. It was all about the lessons I learned from leadership during my time as Acting Chief of Staff to the CTO at GitLab. Unfortunately, it wasn't recorded. But here are my slides accompanied with a rough transcript.
