Because accountability is important - here's the confirmation of receipt of my donation + the one sale from that day...

This #BandcampFriday I'll be donating any sales from my project Salem Soundwaves to Trans Continental Pipeline, along with a $150 donation I'm going to make myself. Most of my early music is PWYW so feel free to take advantage. Every little bit counts.

anyway it's a good idea to keep explicitly mentioning things like pronouns in your communities as it shows you're still okay to be around and also does a great job of filtering out transphobic assholes who shouldn't get to go stealth just because the pendulum has swung back
I love when I look up a project and it's like "okay to build this, install poetry" and I click poetry and it goes "poetry should be installed with pipx" and I click pipx and it says "on windows, you should install pipx with scoop" so I click scoop and then my brain melts out my ears because this is too many layers deep

Here’s a little something I put together this week: Pinhead Map Icons. I was tired of digging through a bunch of different sources to find good cartographic icons, so I compiled all the public domain sources I could find into one unified set. You’ll see familiar faces from the likes of iD, OSM Carto, and National Park Service maps, plus some newcomers. Let me know what you think!

the last time it was acceptable to make a user interface that had the cursor lag when the user presses up and down was never. computers have always been fast enough to handle this.

somehow my 4k TV, however, is not

return trip was longer bc they had to turn the train around and couple it to another one at Albany - the ticket was cheaper for a reason lol. Took time to eat in the cafe car, which was pretty nice considering how small it is. Food was cheaper than expected and fine. Round two (chicken ""bahn mi""") was more satisfying than the microwaved mac & cheese (still good, can't argue with hot food)

Overall a pretty good experience for a round-trip total of $160 or so

passed a dad filming the train while his kid watched. railfans never die 🚈
@saucerlost Hold me closer, tiny Danzig.
