It so happens that a gay themed movie called “Coming Out” premiered at Kino International in East Germany the very day the wall fell. It was intended to demonstrate wider cultural acceptance under the communist regime.
When in Berlin, I was drawn to visit the area of former East Berlin where the Soviets put their stamp of mid-century modernity on the city. Both of these buildings were on Stalinallee, a development intended to showcase Soviet style and new construction techniques to the world. Many of the stations on the Prague Metro have these beautiful metallic dimpled walls running the length of the platforms. Each station has a different color theme. This station, Hradčanská, is the gold one.
