At the time I got married, 13 years ago, I lived in a flat. I liked it cos it was a short walk from the train station. Good for getting home after late nights out.

My wife moved in. One day she said, "The only problem with this flat is that it's a long walk from the station."

Long?

Turns out it's short if you go thru the woods & by the dark underpass, a route a woman would never think of taking.

And that was my 1st lesson in how we inhabit the same space but live in different worlds.

There will be a way forward.

We must do it differently.

I have spent 8 years doing this and now he’s heading back to the White House.

How we move forward I don’t know. I can’t do it with anger.

We will find a way. 🖖

What's coming next isn't about this or that policy over the next 4 years. This isn't about some squabble of this tax or that bike lane. The damage we are about to see will last several generations and will more than likely collapse the American empire.

The rest of the world needs to prepare itself for a world where perhaps the Ruble or RMB is the reserve currency. (I know Wall street and Bay street are celebrating now, but that's b/c they are idiots).

We need to prepare ourselves for a world where we take in American refugees for being persecuted for being black, pregnant, trans, etc.

We need to prepare for a world where climate change has nuked most of our growing regions so we are doing this without access to the plentiful food that we have been used to the last 4 decades.

We also have to prepare for mass heat deaths, floods, and forest fires. We can't possibly save everyone. Hard decisions will inevitably be made about who gets sacrificed at the altar of capitalism and white supremacy.

Most of us already know the answer to this question.

We must build networks for survival. This isn't just Americans either. It's the entire world.
