First day of the last week of the semester. Strength.
My mummy sailing her International 14. How I miss her. How I need her joy. 💛 💃 ⛵ 🌊
I graded all the papers as if it were December 12, so efficient, so on top of end-of-semester grades, but it is December 5 today, so I had to go back through and take away all the zeros, and all I did was cause extra work, argh.😫
ok i swear i post more stuff than just #goats but i just went out there to say hi (still in my bathrobe because sunday) and mah heart did melt

My book is out now! A romance about a food writer and in the middle of a pandemic. This is the perfect light read for this week.

If y’all could give this a little boost, it would be very appreciated. 🥰

Who decided to have all these essays due on the same day. Why. Why do I always do this.

okay here's a first non-logistical toot: independent bookstores make a third of their sales between Thanksgiving & the end of the year 💛

pls consider getting holiday gifts from local bookstores, most of which ship nationwide

I'm so grateful for wonderful people -- close friends or not -- who have invited my dad over for Thanksgiving. I've lived far away and across an ocean from my family for over a decade now, and after my mum passed, I used to worry about Dad being alone on Thanksgiving until I realized people always invite him, people always step up. Thank you, people. You heal missing hearts. 💛 🦃 💛
Considered moving a beloved book (not mine!) to the display table of a local indie, then had a thought of my mom surreptitiously moving copies of my second book--twenty years ago--to the front of the Fort Lauderdale Barnes and Noble every time she walked in. Not endorsing ANY of this, but thought (sigh), I miss and love her.
In the thriving world of #wellnessscams (and the competition is fierce) I was surprised at just how full of crap "food sensitivity kits" are. what they measure has NEVER been proven to have any relationship to food issues. in fact, it may just indicate that you've repeatedly been exposed to a food. read my latest at https://www.inverse.com/mind-body/are-food-sensitivity-tests-accurate #foodsensitivity
Are food sensitivity tests accurate? Here's the truth from an immunologist

Food sensitivity tests are expensive and popular. But is there any science to support their use?
