I need folks to understand the people chastising trans/queer folks for not wanting to vote for Newsom have always wanted to abandon queer and trans people and now think they have a palatable excuse.

Just like they always wanted to throw away disabled people until Covid gave them an excuse. This is especially easy to recognize when you compare Republican efforts to bring in disabled voters vs Democrats. (Hint: Republicans do a TON more.)

I'm not saying this to be a doomer, or make you feel scared. I'm saying this so you can make your plans and strategies on what to do going forward with information you need in mind.

The DoJ is demanding that the gender clinic at CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) hand over all records, including names, social security numbers, birthdqtes, and addresses of patients.

Reminder - these are children.

CHOP is trying to fight it, as it seems to be a violation of patient rights under HIPPA, but who knows how the courts will decide.

My housemate's 12 years old nibbling, Max, is in those records.

We're going to try to get money together for passports for them (my housemate's sister, and her two kids) because as soon as the patient details are disclosed they will be flagged in a database to make things like getting passports more difficult. It looks like it's going to be around $650AUD for it all.

If you feel so inclined, it would be a great goodness if you could help.
