DavidAfter several months of umm-ing and ahh-ing, I handed in my notice at work this week.
If anyone knows of a Canadian company looking to hire a remote senior web developer who will NOT be working on LLM-related functionality (or be required to use LLM-based development tools), please point me in their direction. I've got 15 years of experience and love getting my teeth into technical problems.

My current SRE role is coming to an end, and the current market is scary.
The most current project was getting 3 line-of-business applications (for a national retailer!) moved to AWS, with some infra design, and lots of Terraform and Ansible.
I've got some Python chops, too.

It has begun in Seattle. Received a text from my youngest grandchild that they have been out in a north Seattle neighborhood for about an hour and have seen 3 Homeland Security vehicles.
I’ve always been proud of my son. Today I learned something that has overwhelmed me. It seems that when a monumental event occurs in the life of a friend he makes note of it in his calendar. A close friend lost is wife to cancer last year and the anniversary of that day is fast approaching. My son gives him a call and suggests they both take the day off and just hang out. When the friend reminds my son of the significance of the date, he is told that’s why they need to hang out. It’s happening.
