Trying to break into the infosec industry!
@jpm @dawnstar Haha, that sounds great. I wonder if this would help me prove my point at work, or just solidify the decision to increase frequency πŸ˜†β€‹
@evawolfangel Awesome, looks like a great source, she seems to have a few papers on different things around this topic.
Thanks for that one!

Hey #InfoSec community! I'm on the fence about phishing training – not a big fan due to the risk of breeding mistrust and complacency. But, I'm all ears for data-driven insights.

Got any studies or personal takes on simulated phishing campaigns? Would love to hear both sides to shape some strategies and docs.

Evidence-based studied would be a great help!

Thanks! πŸ›‘οΈ #CyberSecurity #PhishingTraining

At the beginning of this year, I made a post saying I was sure that by the end of the year, I would have a job in security, and I'm happy to say that I finally have found it!

I was so close to giving up on my dream of a job in cyber security, for almost two years I have been applying and did not get a single response for a security-related job. I knew it would be hard without the work experience, certs, degree or anything, but miracles do happen!

I start my new role as a Security Analyst at a hospital in just over a week!
Now I need to make sure I don’t burn out too much from trying to document all the processes and automation at my current work in the last few days…

My final thought on this.

@ValidHorizon good advice. Yes I do love defender, I have been using that as my only solution for so long and just wanted to see if I really need anything more.

@jpm for my company we are super small, I'm the security guy along with anything else the boss doesn't know how to do.
I had to force them to run windows and chrome updates as it was stressing me when he was showing me anything on his PC.

We share a co-working space and I just get a bit paranoid and didn't know if I should be using a VPN for it or not.

@punchdrunktux I do like the Kaspersky browser protection, it has identified some malicious scripts in a site I was visiting (local business near me I was using, was a cool find as it was the first time I decoded an obfuscated script by myself)

Yeah I always use defender, and if I'm doing anything dodgy I'm using a VM. I guess I don't need to worry too much.
