Trying to break into the infosec industry!

Hey #InfoSec community! I'm on the fence about phishing training – not a big fan due to the risk of breeding mistrust and complacency. But, I'm all ears for data-driven insights.

Got any studies or personal takes on simulated phishing campaigns? Would love to hear both sides to shape some strategies and docs.

Evidence-based studied would be a great help!

Thanks! 🛡️ #CyberSecurity #PhishingTraining

At the beginning of this year, I made a post saying I was sure that by the end of the year, I would have a job in security, and I'm happy to say that I finally have found it!

I was so close to giving up on my dream of a job in cyber security, for almost two years I have been applying and did not get a single response for a security-related job. I knew it would be hard without the work experience, certs, degree or anything, but miracles do happen!

I start my new role as a Security Analyst at a hospital in just over a week!
Now I need to make sure I don’t burn out too much from trying to document all the processes and automation at my current work in the last few days…

Getting ready for the next few months, home made raspberry infused vodka, and limoncello!

Homegrown raspberries and lemons!

recorded a Windows 95 full disk defrag to soothe your timeline.

My final thought on this.

Don't wake up 😱 the day after voting 🗳️ on the Voice to Parliament 🗣️ to find you've helped put a stop to Indigenous reconciliation 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻 for a generation because someone fooled you 😈 into thinking a non-binding advisory panel is risky. 🤨

So I need some advice. What personal antivirus or general protection should I use on my system at home and my work laptop?

I want something not expensive and hopefully offered a VPN for while I'm out at a co-working space.

I was thinking Kaspersky, but should I be worried about bears getting up in my grill?

Okay, so whatever YouTube has done in the latest update they need to roll back.

I cannot find any good content anymore, I'm just getting pushed music or stuff I don't care about.

That feeling when you walk in to the office, see that someone has dumped everything in your area to deal with and your the only one in because no one wants to be on time.

I guess I'll just sit here refreshing my emails to see if I get any job application responses while I wait for people to get here.

I'm paralysed with indecision right now.

I have been building up a very small Gameboy and Pokemon game collection for a while now. Tonight is the night I decided to start playing!

Problem is, the previous owners saves are still on the games.

First game I loaded up: saphire versions.

Ben spent 53 hours on this game. Do not his Pokemon have feelings and dreams? If I want to make my own way, why should his Pokemon loose their life to make way for the bits of my Pokemon?

Damnit ADHD why you make me overthink everything?

This year is the year I will get a job in Infosec!
I have spent the last 13 months learning, listening, and practising, and I am ready for the challenge!

If anyone has any leads for me, I’m looking for a role as a Security or SOC Analyst and am based in Melbourne, Australia.

I have a background in Investigations, mobile phone support and repairs, and currently a website coordinator for a retailer.

I just finished an undergrad certificate in Applied Technologies focusing on Cyber Security and play around with TryHackMe and Pentesterlab in my spare time.
