@hackbyte @gbhnews @voron For Easter, I fasted social media for a couple of days. I realized the demands of my community growing dramatically, and constantly being in the mindset of creating content left little space for mindful reflection. But during this time, I also realized how much I had grown dependent on social media for news and News trends during the pandemic. I realized with one return to NPR’s 1A weekly round up and me intentionally sourcing news, how much had changed in at least my consumption of news updates. I also wished these news outlets used social media better. 🫣

Keeping it running with millions of requests in sync across distributed databases and smoothly takes more than most realize. I could write a Twitter like app in a weekend, that doesn't mean I could recreate Twitter in a weekend, or a month or even a year.

This man wants to lead us into space? Can you imagine the sci-fi novel dystopian society a human with his hubris would bring upon Earth 2.0 society?
Can folks stop embuing Elon’s decisions with reverence and awe because he’s rich and has a (paid-for) founder title?
