I'm gonna have some big thoughts here, so if you're not ready for that, please skip on by because I refuse to stand by!

I'm gonna say this, and I'll say it one time.
Hear me good.
Plurality is not a playhouse.
Plurality is not a game.
Plurality, is not often what you want it to be but what it forms as.
For many of us it is not chosen.
It is a lived reality made by trauma, neurodivergence, dissociation, years of abuse, and the will to survive through it all.
Plurality, systems, or collectives rely on self-awareness, and often meditation to truly know who they are and being a spectical is not one of them.
When someone claims to literally share a mind with figures from books, tv shows, or human-made or written characters, it becomes hard to believe and shines an unwelcome spotlight on plurality.
I often wonder if people will start asking me questions like this.
"Oh, are you like them and have fictive, imagination-constructed beings that you share a mind with?"
Not out of mallass but out of unknowing.
Do not treat/do plural people like that, it's unwelcome and hurtful., and can really hurt those who are trying to come out as such.
Not because symbolism or archetypes are invalid, but because presenting them as alters, headmates, or collective members blur the lines between internal reality, and performative fantasy.
I am not calling anyone out for faking their plurality because god knows that's a really horrible thing to do, but if this message reaches you and you know what you've been doing is wrong? STOP, please.
Your plee for attention seriously fucking undermines the credibility of people who already struggle to be taken seriously by their friends, family, and even clinicians who often diagnose disorders like DID or similar disorders.
*note*, not all people who are plural have DID or some form of it*.
Faking plurality to me reads as aestheticizing something that for others has been their entire reality.
What makes this especially exhausting is the casual superiority threaded through it.
I am not interested in arguing about beliefs, nor policing anyone’s identity.
What I want to do is protect those who can't build up the nerve to come out as plural and slowly help them find themselves.
