New start on Song of the Nightingale by #modernfolkembroidery! First time using 20 count Aida (Platinum) and @roxy.flossco threads. Loving how my new frame sits on my lap and holds the hoop - good purchase!!

Started my first needlepoint project since I was a kid - and the first ever that's not just tent stitch. Project gives three colorways, the one I picked was originally done on congress cloth instead of 18 mono, and I didn't know enough to realize that threads picked for congress cloth aren't (necessarily) right for 18 mono. I didn't get very far, and it's a good lesson, but now I need to frog it all, buy different threads, and start over. *sigh* #needlepoint @fibrearts @crossstitch

In other stitcherly news, after many (MANY) hours of research and trying out several alternatives, I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a Needlework System4 embroidery stand. I feel sort of like a teenager who just got an actual car after practicing driving on video games. Super excited to start working on it!

Week 9 of Cliffside Stitches' SAL is done! Continuing to love the colors and stitching on Lugana... and continuing to think that SALs cause me to put arbitrary pressure on myself and maybe should be avoided, no matter how much I like them. #crossstitch #stitching

Interesting article. Satellites measure light emitted upward, but can't see all the wavelengths LED lights produce, nor light that is emitted horizontally. So the degree to which data suggests light pollution is increasing is understated by almost a factor of five. "At this rate of change, a child born in a location (today) where 250 stars were visible would be able to see only around 100 by the time they turned 18."
