I’m an idiot, please don’t rely on me for meaningful information… Made in S.Wales.
@kaimac Mood 😔

Ok, so, I’ve spent since November screaming at toasters (AI) to try and get my #tildagon app working.
It’s entirely vibecoded (like, 150%, it gives me code and I throw it on, not even a brief check over) & so far I’ve learnt:
1) if it doesn’t work on the simulator, it may work on the badge regardless.
2) the only ai agent that made any headway at all was Claude.
3) useless github release notes are fun to write.

App is called Badgagotchi.
Don’t install it, I wouldn’t if I don’t have to.

Guy who revived the Pebble watches and champions hacking/tinkering/open source has decided to make a single use (ewaste) smart ring dictator device. (???)
While the device seems great the fact it becomes completely useless after the battery runs out is criminal… seems there are many like me in his comments https://youtu.be/ArxhS4SQaP0?si=cmVys_oCCnkMcW42

@HankB sorry I may have made my requirements a bit brief for the character cut off, I meant seeing as I have an nvidia card id like the driver installed (I thinki need the closed one? As it’s an older card?) If there are any tweaks that the community push to be “must haves” it would be good for them to be included.
For example I just tried fedora but found about 5 different scripts that supposedly install the nvidia drivers, everyone argues which is the “right one”.
Ok. Windows 11 has cooked itself after an update and I refuse to reinstall everything AGAIN.
What KDE distros do people recommend for someone new to Linux, has older hardware but likes to game (not online/competitively, most stuff older games) and wants things to be set up/included by default as much as possible.
Thought that Nobara would be perfect but it won’t boot off ventoy nor direct off a usb. (Safe boot disabled and multiple attempts)
Ryzen 7 3700x & GTX 1070.

@lilt @theresnotime Report reason: I am in this image and I don’t like it
@roomaroo my old stone miners terrace was a nightmare for WiFi.
Then I got a mesh system;
cable from the main router (got it moved to the centre of the house when the fibre went in) up into the loft to the “main” mesh point (plasterboard ceiling didn’t block it) Then run a cable from that down into my “office” to another mesh point & means my pc etc are wired. Then final mesh point plugged in behind the tv downstairs (nonwired). Almost full coverage and speeds!
@X31Andy watched it today on my dinner break. Really interesting whistle stop tour, thanks for doing it! Glad I could catch it as missed it live despite it being on my ‘list’.
@Edent as a newbie to Linux this is a genuine issue. Doing generic stuff is fine as its well documented, but odd tweaks you need to do to get some dumb old piece of software working usually takes you to a post somewhere where they just say “install xyz then ensure you configure it via the command line to enable passthrough”, that’s the final post, from 3 years ago, with about 10 ‘helpful’ marks…

@VE3RWJ but you can get a five pack for less than the price of two pack!

Imagine if the $20M in research were funnelled to cancer research or something instead.

Seems like my initial view of Brand has always been right:
Scruffy looking grifter who uses big words haphazardly to confuse his fans and make him seem a sensible investment.
He’ll be in politics next…
