"It doesn't have to get done,
It just has to be perfect"

I sometimes worry that I have a touch of ADHD but your post works to dispell that concern. My go to statement regarding tasks is:

It doesn't have to be perfect - it's not a space shuttle.

@LovingFalloutLondon1954 @adhd_coffee is that something you have as an explizit statement because you would try to make something perfect and never be done otherwise? i.e. is that a coping mechanism against perfectionism?
Or just something you always thought/lived by?

(And perfectionism isn't really a symptom of ADHD (at least not a diagnostic criteria). It's more of a symptom of being told "you're wrong/you're doing things wrong" all your life, which often happens to ADHDers)

@Larymir being able to imagine what an excellent product/outcome would be like, but being unable to do all the steps necessary to make that happen is pretty textbook.
@Larymir @adhd_coffee You're right; I may have misinterpreted the statement. I usually do.
@adhd_coffee as someone with audhd I thought my perfectionism comes from me being autistic but honestly maybe its just an overlapping trait between adhd and autism.
@adhd_coffee I've been trying, and failing, to live by Krusty's slogan instead.

What many people I think dont realise, is that procrastination dosent stem from laziness, it stems from perfectionism, perfectionism to have the perfect working enviroment and mindset to start work

LBT from @adhd_coffee

I read this to my #ADHD wife who laughed and then said, "Hush!"

@adhd_coffee My old boss had a phrase "Done is good enough!" That phrase helped such a lot and I have told it to other people too.
@adhd_coffee "Don't just do something... Stand there!"
