I'm #Autistic with a lineup of neurological issues caused by my CNS running too hot like an overclocked CPU.

Chronic pain, central sensitization syndrome, fluctuating mobility constraints.

Here to be in a space where people understand the struggle and share their insights.

@gri That's a great idea. Cold or cool showers send me too far the other direction, but just hands and feet would moderate the effect. Thanks!
@DDJavanne Good thinking, that makes sense. Thank you 🙏
@treetopteresa Thank you Theresa 🙏 ❤️

Advice from those who deal with heat intolerance?

Really struggling with it in today's 35C weather.

My underlying issue is #autism & #mitochondrial dysfunction. Articles on the topic only give profoundly unhelpful suggestions like "use an air conditioner" and "stay out of the sun".

Respectfully, the systematic murder of disabled people during the holocaust is significantly under acknowledged.

Expert historians may correct me, but as I understand it from reading, the holocaust began by "euthanising" disabled and chronically ill people, "incurables", before it was expanded to other targets.

And worse, it began with disabled children.

Yet, this is not common knowledge, nor often discussed.

2022 isn’t the year that we emerged from the pandemic.

It’s the year we chose to normalize ignoring it and leaving the most vulnerable behind.

Great thread from Jen Simmons on the straight up ableism & eugenics of insisting covid is over because those it threatens don't really count:

To every person who’s posting some kind of 2022 year-in-review with any version of: oh I’m so happy 2022 was the year the pandemic ended / we got to travel again / things went back to normal… Ok, listen. First, the pandemic is not over. It’s as bad as ever. People are NOT safe unmasked, indoors, in public — they are simply brainwashed into thinking it’s safe to get COVID over & over. (The science is clear it’s not. If you “disagree”, please go look at some recent statistical data.) Second…
