Home educating teens; spend my time cycling, hanging out with my tiny church, sending out invoices for https://www.jumoo.co.uk.

I believe in things. They will probably become apparent.

if youre new and see cw's as some authoritarian measure forced upon the masses, i invite you to examine the systems in play in our lives that connotate a kindness extended in empathy, with that.
@47363 @jpkeates @davidallengreen @SturdyAlex Essentially, it's a judgement call. If you boost things without CNs that need them (or without image alt text) there are people who will remove you from their timeline - unfollow, mute, unfollow your boosts, block, whatever. If you do it a lot, it will affect your reach. If you do it here and there, it might not have much impact. It's a risk you have to judge.
Saw somebody on The Bad Place saying that joining Mastodon and finding all your people again feels a bit like surviving a zombie apocalypse and your heart lifting every time one of your friends walks into the compound, battle-scarred but alive. I can’t find the original tweet now, so I’m sorry not to give credit. But I keep feeling like that whenever someone I recognise pops up.
@Liveotherwise @KeefJudge Cotton burns slowly but quite hot. Polyester, on the other hand, is made of crude oil... 🔥

Nightmares around the world: Money, sex, falling, snakes, blood, teeth falling out.

Nightmares in Greece: HATS.

For anyone wondering why folk CW for eye-contact: it's because it can make some people feel stressed to see lots of faces staring at them while they scroll.

I am one of those people.

For me, I have the most issue with photos of humans and realistic or semi-realistic art of human-like faces.

I don't have it at all for animals or more stylised art.

But the cool thing is -- I usually open things CWed for selfie or eye-contact! Especially if it's art. It just means I have a moment to prepare.

@qikipedia Seems like a slippery slope. #rememberAaronBurr
@ElHadjiMurad I'm only following 40 people, but they're all doing things and saying things all the time!
Hey! Spent all day (technically night) fixing delayed feeds on mastodon.social and mastodon.online, both are back to normal now, I had to add more capacity. There's just so much more activity during peak hours, even with closed registrations! #devops
