A triumphant performance!
Tristan und Isolde at the Met Opera.
Ms Davidsen is fabulous but unfortunately the production is uneven (by moment beautiful but also ridiculous and killing any emotion). Mr Spyres is good but his voice does not blend well with the soprano. We love Tomasz Konieczny but what happened to Ms Gubanova? And why continuing engaging Mr Speedo Green?
The conductor is also VERY uneven.

"A poem is a swallow in flight. You can watch it soar through the infinite sky, you can even feel the wind passing over its wings, but you can never catch it, let alone keep it in a cage. Poems belong to no one." (in 'There are Rivers in the Sky', Elif Shafak, 2024)

This is a fascinating read, and do not miss the video excerpt of Tristan at the Met (with Lise Davidsen's Isolde)

#ThrowbackThursday ♻️ "Moving to #India meant venturing into unknown territories. Although a seasoned traveller, I had always carefully avoided that country. Fast-forward two decades, and there I was, sitting at a desk in #Chennai. I had signed up for a 4-month contract; I had just arrived, and I stayed for 5 years. " Here is #NoVisa — A Life in India 1
