We have moved our website https://open-bio.org/ from a hosted #WordPress instance to #Hugo running on #GitHubPages, with a new look and feel (and light/dark themes) but preserving all the content. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

About the OBF The Open Bioinformatics Foundation (OBF) is a non-profit, volunteer-run group that promotes open source software development and Open Science within the biological research community. Membership in the OBF is free and open to anyone who wants to help promote open source or open science in a biological field. OBF runs the annual Bioinformatics Open Source Conference (BOSC). BOSC 2025 will be July 21-22, 2025, in Liverpool, UK (as part of ISMB/ECCB 2025).

Our website https://www.open-bio.org/ is back online, we think it was a effectively a #DenialOfService attack from a rogue bot site scraping - which pushed the server over the hosting's burst CPU limit threshold.

And the website is offline again, another CPU usage spike trigging a precautionary shutdown by the hosting company.

See https://obf.github.io/ in the interim which already has most of the static content, and all the pages migrated from MediaWiki. The WordPress content is next!
