Why is AI so bad at UX?
I think it's a nonsensical question, because AI doesn't think, let alone think about anything in context of a user.
It's way more interesting to ask why it doesn't do UI well, as not so much nuance is needed just for UI. But AI struggles there too. It was trained on millions of different interfaces, it knows how they look. But that's not enough, it would have to be trained also on the usage of those UIs. That is still missing.

I've been working with Tokens Studio for the past 3 weeks and I've never been confronted with a tool that left me so confused even though I've worked with many design tools with an incredibly large feature set. I think I'm lucky to have some programming exp which helps.
I know that when I understand it more, I'll love it, because of everything it can do, but damn if this couldn't have been done a whole lot easier.
In graphic design there is only Adobe. Best software hands down by far. They are evil monopolist that abuses their position. Collaborative work makes alternatives impossible.
Affinity is a less pro alternative. Software is good, price too. But in pro work, those few details that make Adobe just a bit faster was a dealbreaker for pro designers. Canva bought them and now Affinity is free. Thats a good deal!
Plus AI features if you want them.
