Today we cooked Okonomiyaki Hiroshima style, with and for children. This is what Helene made, with her own hands. And only a little advice when she specifically asked for it. She is 11, but turns 12 in December.
#Recipe soon.
Reorganising parts of the books, we're running out of space again. Great thing to slow down after a very busy week. We got a cake in the pipeline, yellow Thai curry paste - and Sunday we will host children, so we cook Okonomiyaki Hiroshima style with them, because it's such beautiful and creative handicraft. The one or the other will be this weekend‘s recipe.
We ran out of yellow Thai curry paste, so we made new one. The recipe will be on the blog soon. After that, only green paste is missing, we have already described the others (panang, red, massaman).
We announced a recipe from the British Isles - it will be one of the most classic pub dishes: Bangers and mash. How we like to do it. The NextGens did not raise complaints.
This one just blew us away.
Today we're cooking Khao Soi from northern Thailand, maybe we'll manage to write the recipe tomorrow. Otherwise it will come at the beginning of the week.
Next up: Coca, a pastry from Catalonia / the Balearic islands. Typically savoury with loads of veggies. The base is a kind of bread dough with quite some olive oil, not dissimilar to Focaccia. A Coca strictly comes with no cheese whatsoever.
Coming soon: the „official“
#recipe for Salmorejo from Córdoba. Another great Spanish dish with only four ingredients (plus toppings).
We are in Spain and we are cooking Spanish food. What else could be our first
#recipe from this beautiful country than tortilla de patatas.
Slices of the now stale bread we soaked in some egg-milk seasoned with a little salt, black pepper and Spanish smoked paprika, then fried them gently in a little olive oil. After cooling, we topped them with very little aioli, not too little fresh parsley and a few tinned mussels (mejillones en escabeche). A decadently delicious canapé on a budget. Well that goes well with wine. Especially in the afternoon…
