Just an ordinary guy looking to make sense of the the world. Politics, current affairs, the arts and family. Rugby is a passion. The world is my home. Here to learn and absorb

@erkpod The run through Brooklyn over the hawksbury is very scenic. Must be impressive at dawn and misty days. Favourite part is through Brisbane water. One day will stop at Wondebyne
@erkpod Superb and happy to follow. Do you drive the older silver train sets or the new ones that came on service recently. The older ones are so comfortable with those big seats
@europesays Russia for US or any other visitors might be a bit problematic at the moment.
@bobthetraveler Thank you sir. Human history is fascinating in the sheer number of ways one can track expansion. From coins to pottery to poop! Marvellous stuff (history, not poop except perhaps to the scientists)
@franciscos @heidilifeldman The most vocal, AOC, Crockett, Pete etc are the future if the DNC grandees want them to be but at the cost of modernizing the Dems and likely losing their power and influence. GOP and entrenched Dems are same side of the same coin
@DrALJONES Apologies. Indeed the Duopoly. Most of us are totally against and appalled by what is happening.
@DrALJONES irrespective of the outcome of the election, this is the policy of the Australian polity. We are so emeshed in the orbit of the United States that we cannot have an independent defence and foreign policy
@aeva confess to being a car nut but truth is aside of a special one for weekends, city living with public transport takes care of everything as well as walking which in a place like the centre of Sydney is not a hardship. Cars today are overly complex for their purpose. To get from one place to another in safety and to carry shopping. Sydney has a choice of bus, light rail, trains and ferries to get about on.
@tonymullen @masek In plain sight are people in the US being captured on the streets. If not challenged then it will simply escalate. History has shown this time and again

Wages.

We could easily afford beers and parmas if we had the same wage levels as we had 50 years ago

Australians earn **one third **the real buying power of the 1970s.

We earn ONE THIRD of what we used to

**employers took the difference in value **and stores kept increasing prices

the problem is the wages

**join a union **
