Electrical engineer by day, husband/father/tinkerer by night; enjoy the technical side of ham radio (designing, building, repairing), audio electronics, and microcontroller designs. Also dabble in photography and making (3D modeling and printing, woodworking, etc…)
@AB4UG Very sorry for your loss, Eugene.
Enroute to Austin, TX (again). Work calls, will be down here for a week and a half this time.
@frenchtoast I’ll take “posts to at didn’t age well for 1000”
My Flex-8400 arrived back at my house yesterday and is back on the air. Now I have a bit of ground to make up in the DX Marathon. Total countries worked in 2026 so far: 0
@pa8mm The keyer port was a bit flaky, then totally failed. Sounds like it was a defective jack and that broke the related circuits onboard.
With a bit of luck, my Flex radio should be back from repair tomorrow. Will be nice to get back on the air.
I was laid off in October after 13 years at Amazon and am still seeking a new opportunity. Please ping me if you know of a full-time remote role working on network and/or infrastructure security (on-prem and cloud-based). I also have experience with embedded/OT/IoT network security and wireless security. After hours I run a small network (AS46577) and fiddle with microcontrollers, embedded Linux, ham radio, and drones. Boosts appreciated. #infosecjobs #getfedihired #jobhunt #jobsearch
Enroute from Boston to Santa Clara, CA. Nothing like a last minute trip. Was asked to travel here last Wednesday. For a late booking, I really don’t do too bad with airfare, hotel, and car. Glad to know it’s just a short 5-day trip.
@n8dmt Nice! I have the same goal to improve my lab a little bit every day. Making good progress already.
@KC8JC I worked from home on Tuesday due to the snow here in New England and made about 80 contacts on FT8 in between calls. I miss daytime operating during the week!
