Electrical engineer by day, husband/father/tinkerer by night; enjoy the technical side of ham radio (designing, building, repairing), audio electronics, and microcontroller designs. Also dabble in photography and making (3D modeling and printing, woodworking, etc…)
May has been a crazy month in my house. Business trip to Austin, TX last week, had to replace my daughter’s car, repaired a broken clothes dryer, started catching up on yard cleanup, and said goodbye to one of our cats. I’m taking Friday off to tackle a couple more all day projects, and then I’m hoping I can kick back a bit and catch my breath.
Giggity, giggity! My new Flex8400 arrived today. Dismantled my old HF station and set this up after dinner. Very straightforward, but I have a lot to learn with the software.
When you haven’t updated your MiSTer system in a few months…
A packed house for WA1JXR’s talk on the TinySA here at HamXposition in Marlboro, MA.
Here’s an example. And it’s even some user avatars/photos that aren’t loading. Very strange…
Finally wrapped up the build of the Prusa i3 MK3S+ for my wife’s STEM lab. One of the other teachers and a student started it last year, but I had to ‘fix’ a bunch of issues and finish the build. Did some last minute tweaks and calibrated it, and it’s running great!
Since a few have asked, here are the finished ribs. Totally worth the wait!
Came across this place while out exploring the North Shore of MA today. I think it’s the right place for a POTA operation, don’t you think @smitty ?

Finished assembling my Ender 3 V2 printer last night, doubling the number of 3D printers in the workshop.

Calibration print came out perfect, so I tried a print-in-place model. Yeah, not so great. Most joints fused together.

Need to tinker with the slicer settings a bit, I think.
