I try to figure out why people think the way they do on the dark places of the internet

I have a news letter you will find interesting: https://eftr.substack.com/

Stray thought - "I haven't heard 'radical feminism' in the popular lexicon for a while now"

Google Trends data *suggests* that America might be 'over' feminism.

Looks like the "Meme-magic" discourse is getting updated.

Circuit boards are *actually* techno-occult runes.

Digital temperance movement when?

This "Grinch" trend is interesting. It seems to be a memetic rebranding of Krampus folklore via the marketability of Dr Seuss.

However, it goes beyond the threat of a disappointing Christmas for bad behaviour (coal in stocking / naughty list) to become a tangible, recorded, threat that an aggressive monster will enter your house and punish you for bad behaviour.

All this for a viral trend?

The Jack Reacher novels are dumb fun however, being published yearly since 1997, it is interesting to see how the authors characterisation of US military / intelligence services has changed over time

Pre-2010 it was simple good guys vs the bad guys.

Post-2010 the intelligence apperatus becomes morally ambigious. Much stronger anti-surveillance ethos.

Either way, Lee Child is a far better writer than Tom Clancy.

(61 hours is super dumb. I love it)

Hard to imagine a band that has re-invented itself more than The Sword.
From chugging fantasy-inspired stoner rock to bluesy psychedelica, every album is an absolute powerhouse

The album art for Apocryphon goes hardest though

Go-pro horror X Evil Dead II
DEADSTREAM is a well written and perfectly (over)acted haunted house flick which lives up to the claim of being the most "cinematic livestream experience".

Very, very well done.

I have been thinking about how to best summarise how the Sons of Kojima were genuinely Toxic:

Fred Fuchs, the leader demonstrated abusive and manipulative behaviour. Group participation was focused around not upsetting Fred, who spent the whole day spying on group members.

Fred had no life outside the Sons of Kojima - which was a group dedicated to laughing at live streamer Dark Syde Phil

Fred started coercing group members to perform increasingly embarrassing stunts to appease him
