@Touri @overcastfm, I haven't lost any of those yet (though I do the same thing), because I wasn't subscribed to any and they had no limit set...so AFAIK I'm safe from that. Sorry about your list though...I sure don't want to lose *my* "saved for later" stuff!
@overcastfm, my playlist has begun over-enforcing episode limits. It used to be that if an episode had been played, even for a few seconds, or if it had been manually downloaded, it wouldn't delete until played in full. I just had a whole bunch of podcasts delete all but two episodes...sometimes maybe a couple more. I noticed this before updating to today's 2024.9, but it's weird the behavior changed without an app update...and I'm hoping this new behavior isn't a new issue!
@overcastfm yay, thanks! My sorting hasn’t had much issue lately (sometimes a newly-downloaded one wouldn’t sync right and get loved back to top, but it’s not too bad), but things have been much smoother. Hopefully this fixes all my gripes!
@overcastfm: Correction, it’s definitely worse than 50%. It *seems* that maybe it continuously plays episodes that have previously been started, but not others. Not entirely sure though
@overcastfm, Continuous Play works maybe 50% of the time now. I don’t use “Play Top Episode Next”
@VibraniumDragon @overcastfm, broke for me too and I don’t use the “play top next” option
@mttkng @overcastfm, that sounds like the issue I had. I’m still having it, though I haven’t given it enough time on today’s update to know if it’s fixed yet https://mastodon.social/@Minsc13/112972210081090346
Looks like I spoke too soon...the order got all wacky again, in exactly the same way as it had been on this device (haven't checked the other yet). I don't know where Overcast puts files that AppCleaner can't see, or if there's something crossing iCloud that is somehow corrupt...but there's more going on still

...but the out-of-order episodes are different between each. That tells me that episode order that's being synced across iCloud is correct, but there's a local cache that's overriding it...but only locally

I finally got sick of dealing with the growing incursion of episodes, so I deleted and re-installed the app on both platform this morning and will see where that takes me

3/3

This began as only one episode at a time, changing every day or so (back in 2024.8, even), but has now been growing by one or two a day. It's to the point where the current podcast and those queued up next aren't even on the screen anymore unless I scroll down

I'm back to using two devices, which has revealed something interesting about this bug: it seems to be related to the on-device cache. Both platforms (iOS and iPadOS-on-macOS) have the issue…
