In today's update (2024.8.1):

- Manage Storage
- Bug fixes, including 24-hour-auto-delete mode
- Seek back/forward buttons on the miniplayer

And by popular demand, the third button on the bottom of now-playing is now the Sleep Timer! (Sleep-timer custom intervals are also better now.)

The "i" button is now in the upper-right. (Tapping the artwork also still brings up info mode.)

I hear your feedback and am experimenting with other options for mode-switching the playback screen. Stay tuned.

Update for @overcastfm after 5 days of 2024.08.1:

So far, I no longer have the massive "everything gets shuffled around all the time" bug. However, there's a new, slightly different symptom that I suspect is related to the same bug. Instead of EVERYTHING moving around, a few seemlingly-random episodes from farther down the queue will pop up to the top. When I fix the order, it'll eventually bring the same episodes back (always in the same order)

1/?

This began as only one episode at a time, changing every day or so (back in 2024.8, even), but has now been growing by one or two a day. It's to the point where the current podcast and those queued up next aren't even on the screen anymore unless I scroll down

I'm back to using two devices, which has revealed something interesting about this bug: it seems to be related to the on-device cache. Both platforms (iOS and iPadOS-on-macOS) have the issue…

2/?

...but the out-of-order episodes are different between each. That tells me that episode order that's being synced across iCloud is correct, but there's a local cache that's overriding it...but only locally

I finally got sick of dealing with the growing incursion of episodes, so I deleted and re-installed the app on both platform this morning and will see where that takes me

3/3

Looks like I spoke too soon...the order got all wacky again, in exactly the same way as it had been on this device (haven't checked the other yet). I don't know where Overcast puts files that AppCleaner can't see, or if there's something crossing iCloud that is somehow corrupt...but there's more going on still
