I live in Audierne, a coastal town in Bretagne, France but I mainly use English since I am a Kiwi who worked in France and then retired here.
In the long view, the people who come out worst from the Johnson affair aren't the pathological liar Johnson himself or his revolting clownshow of sycophants. It's all the journalists and commentators who could have treated him objectively over the years, as the committee has done now, but who always gave him special treatment instead because they thought he was funny or useful.

The mother of a nine-year-old girl says her daughter has received an outpouring of love and support after a man wrongly suggested the girl was transgender and demanded proof she was born biologically female at a Kelowna, B.C., school track meet.

SPEECHLESS.

B.C. school district bans man who queried gender of nine-year-old girl at track meet

B.C. Premier David Eby says the incident was awful and unacceptable, and people should ‘continue to call out transphobia when they see it’

I remember John McCain was able to get Lindsey Graham to dance with his better angels— that's over
Fani Willis may have caught the S Carolina senator up in racketeering op— would be good for our country to remove this #senator from the political playing board
Now, now.... C'mon, Richard, they'll make that up as they go along the way they've always done.

"We" aren't failing at controlling climate change. That's because "we"- the actual people- have little power to make the decisions necessary to fix things.

Instead, this is being done to us.

The small group of sociopathic billionaires driving the destruction would like nothing more than for us to blame ourselves for what they are actively doing to us, absolving them of blame.

So stop saying "we" are failing. We're not. We're fine.

US Internal Refugee Crisis: 130-260k Trans People Have Already Fled

A growing refugee crisis is occurring in the United States, and it is getting very little coverage. I highlight the growing migration crisis, the people fleeing, and the laws they are fleeing from.

'Holding a former president accountable for an alleged profound attack on the United States is indeed unprecedented, as his supporters insist. But far from being a bad thing to stand firm on the rule of law at the upper levels of government, it seems to fall into the category of “high time.”'

“DONALD TRUMP UNDER ARREST, IN FEDERAL CUSTODY.” It was quite a chyron from CNN, marking the first time in the history of the United States that a former president has been charged with federal crimes. And in this case, what crimes they are: the willful retention, sharing, and hiding of classified documents that compromise our national security. Trump’s own national security advisor John Bolton said, “This is material that in the hands of America’s adversaries would do incalculable damage to the United States. This is a very serious case and it’s not financial fraud, it’s not hush money to porn stars, this is the national security of the United States at stake. I think we’ve got to take the politics out of this business when national security is at stake.”
