Did sourdough bagels for the first time. Over hydrated the dough, and the resulting stickiness messed with the shaping a bit, but overall proud how they turned out (recipe via Lion's Bread).

Also did sourdough pretzels last week (recipe via Sugar Spun Run), which turned out well

It was our family Chanukah dinner tonight, which also falls on Shabbat. Among other things, I baked a couple of challahs. First was a 10 strand challah plait that turned out well. I have a kid with fructose issues and can't have regular challah, so I tried a sourdough challah 4 strand braid. Unfortunately, the braid didn't survive the second rise, but still tasted good.

Baked the bread that will be French Toast tomorrow. Took this opportunity to practice some dough braiding technique. Proud how this 5 strand plait turned out.

Did s'mores rolls for the fam. Cinnamon roll dough filled with Swiss meringue, white or semisweet chocolate chips, and graham cracker bits, and then topped with toasted meringue, more chocolate chips and crushed graham crackers.

Doing an early Christmas gathering with the in laws. They traditionally cook pasta, and we traditionally bring a loaf of Italian bread to share.

I turned on the Hallmark Yule Log today, which features kittens in front of the fireplace, which resulted in one of our younger cats, Link, jumping up on the TV stand hoping to play with them. He tried to pounce the TV multiple times.

Me: ...That's it! You're grounded! No TV! No phone! No other screens!!

My Kid: Fine! That won't make me sad! I'll just sit in my room and read books the whole time! How do you like that!! (Stomps away to her room and slams the door)

On dinner roll duty for #Thanksgiving for the family. I did some old standbys: sourdough rolls and braided challah rolls.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

I finally successfully got pitas with proper pockets in them. Needed a screaming hot baking stone at 500F. Recipe via Delish on this one.
