Wilhoit's law

“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

Wisdom from @prowag:

"Democracy cannot thrive or survive without a media ecosystem willing to report verifiable truths about the core tenets of democracy — even if those truths currently favor one major political party over another."

The backlash against pro-democracy reporting is coming

"We will be increasingly likely to hear that pro-democracy reporting is biased, dangerous, and un-American."

@msnbc

Stephen Miller is The American Goebbels.

@mariapopova

Was Didion liberal or conservative? I read a lot of her stuff, and I still don't know.

@mattsheffield

Always remember: January 6th and conservatives' voter supression comes from a position of weakness.

They know better than anyone that they are a small minority.

@sethcotlar

Florida Governor DeSantis often accuses people of being "Woke". So it was interesting when DeSantis' attorney was asked for a definition of "Woke" as part of a Court hearing.

DeSantis’ general counsel, Ryan Newman, responded that the term means “the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them.”

So it's official! Anti-Woke means someone who denies there are any systemic injustices. Or maybe only just denies the need to address them!

For example, "The Once and Future Liberal" by Mark Lilla.

The idea is that liberals are wrong to discuss identities. However, the obvious response is that white men have been obsessed with identity politics for as far back as you want to go. Only they never called it that, because it would give up the game.

I recommend "Justice and the Politics of Difference" by Iris Marion Young.

@DeanObeidallah

They should have gone after Mark Meadows. They should also have gone after the people who planned and financed all of it.

@Midge

LOL!!

I wonder whether something like "flash cards" for lefties would help. Slam-dunk answers for all conservative BS. People could drill with them, as though they were learning multiplication.

They could counter wide-spread lies, logical fallacies and voodoo economics.

The point would not be to enforce orthodoxy, but to counter the main conservative strategy of flooding the zone with BS.
