Hi Fedi, Software and Electronic engineer looking for work here

I'm looking for work in Berlin, or Germany, or remote. I'm especially experienced in programming language/compiler front end design, and working with DSLs, as well as all the usual backend and database skills in high level languages. I can also do basic frontend work. I'm also especially passionate about electronic engineering, with a degree in the subject and a lot of hobby work, especially around low-EMI board layout and design for manufacture.

If this sounds like an opening you know of, or even if it doesn't quite fit but you think you have an interesting opening, feel free to message me!

@jaredwhite yeah this is the shitty experimentation phase. One way to look at it is that all the time they spend on MCP servers is time they don't build something worse 😐

PS here's that blog post I mentioned https://worksonmymachine.substack.com/p/mcp-an-accidentally-universal-plugin

MCP: An (Accidentally) Universal Plugin System

Or: The Day My Toaster Started Taking Phone Calls

JavaScript dos and donts @ Mu-An Chiou

@jaredwhite eh this isn't the hill to die on I feel like with AI. Almost all standard proposals need a champion or they don't become an actual standard (you gotta have someone do the work of forging consensus!)

I'm not convinced MCP is 100% bad, I read an interesting blog post a few weeks ago about how defacto standards change access and open up new possibilities that compared MCP to the cigarette lighter/power adapter in your car. Time will tell.

Just in time for the collapse of our constitutional order in the face of fascism I've finally got my hand on @katzonearth book "Gangsters of Capitalism". Happy to finally get to this one on my reading list

@grigs you should check out #FediHire I'm sure you could find folks that way

We may be looking for a Shopify contract developer to help us with an upcoming project. We're looking for someone who knows:

• Shopify configuration and administration
• Shopify theme development
• Shopify JavaScript API development
• JavaScript development (non-Shopify)
• Familiarity with Shopify web hooks
• XML creation using data retrieved from Shopify APIs

If that’s you or you know someone, please let me know.

@indiewebadmin @downey first off, thanks for taking the time to engage with this. I understand the risk of defining everything explicitly and why an org might not want to.

I'm just glad to see you the thought process, I really do appreciate you engaging here with me on this.

Let’s put this to bed.

No Wong answers.

Sorry, I meant "No, Wong answers"

PS ... I loved your guest appearances on Futurama. Always a treat!

@georgetakei

Stop using the word politics entirely. It is a word created to divide and supports a culture of lack of accountability for politicians.
Who are also just people we trusted, who fuck us all-day for personal gain then say it's 'policy'.

Politics ARE principles and must be understood that way in order stop hurting people with 'policy'.

No one is ever responsible for a policy. You see people take credit for denial of decency?

Stop calling violence 'politics'. This is how we change.

@georgetakei every Midwest town has something in common, at noon on the first Monday of the month (at least, it’s daily in some) sirens go off. Tornados are common here so we spend hundreds of millions on alert systems to save those we care about. A $2k utility pole and a $5k siren would have protected them. Seven grand was more than those kids were worth to the camp operators and the government that was supposed to protect them.
@georgetakei Works for mass shootings, too.
@georgetakei politicizing a tragedy would look, for example, more like Auschwitz merch

Comrade Sisko posts a meme of Amy Wong from Futurama standing before a projector screen, which reads: IT'S NOT "POLITICIZING TRAGEDY" IF THE TRAGEDY IS THE RESULT OF BAD POLICY
