@matuzo Sleepytime and Rug Island are real in your feels

One of the fun little unintended consequences of building Kelp UI has been (re)discovering how much I love frontend architecture, testing, and writing docs.

So much so that I'm now offering and entire consulting service around it: https://gomakethings.com/work/

(Booking out in October at this point!)

Let’s work together Unf#ck Your Front-End! Is your codebase holding you back? Let’s create a front-end architecture that’s cheaper, faster, and easier to maintain. 👋 Hi, I’m Chris Ferdinandi. @cferdinandi ...but sometimes there really are no other words you can use

Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

A free and opensource developer begs Mozilla: “Please, let me pay for Firefox” and he’s got a good point imo. #Firefox #Browser #Mozilla #OpenSource https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/let-me-pay-for-firefox/141297 - Community Portal - Mozilla Discourse
Let me pay for Firefox!

Sometimes, I feel a strong desire to pay for brilliant software, but if a free option exists, I often end up using it—even though I benefit greatly from these tools. But I support those software providers express their values, or encouraging more people to join the cause of freedom,or charge, or just add some ads.

Let’s put this to bed.

give a man a linux and he will computer for a day, teach a man to linux and he will not shut the fuck up about it for the rest of his life

This NextDNS blocking UX feels like a trap.

It defaults to "on" and you have to either accept web censorship based on unknown third-party criteria OR essentially say "I DO want to see child abuse material".

It's the "Yes or no: do you still beat your wife?" of UX settings.

@amuse it's got logs (if you enable them), so you can choose to not-CSAM and then validate it isn't blocking more than you'd like.
@parkern That's good, assuming that the logs actually show Target domains when that particular list blocks them - but the ux still does feel like a trap :)
