Matthew says good stuff about the Trump tweets. First, Trump resisted, and they had to force him to use the word “peaceful”in his first tweet. second, she thought that the “you’re very special” tweet was “indefensible.”
Over on the birdsite, every 4th or 5th tweet is an ad and they are increasingly bizarre. Crypto, weird religious stuff. And now there’s an invite in my notifications to subscribe to Blue. I see fewer and fewer of the people whose tweets I like. It’s going to be impossible to see much decent content if you don’t pay. And I’m not paying. #twitterexodus

Built in verification. Every reporter for the Washington Post on a washpo domain. Every reporter for the New York Times on an NYTimes domain. Etc, etc.
Plus the “local” feed for each instance becomes a feed of all the posts from that institution mixed together — providing extra discovery.
