PhD student/resident Golgi-phile at the Royle lab, Centre for Mechanochemical Cell Biology, Warwick Uni

Sahil Kamboj from our collaborator Ambroise Lambert’s lab showed us how @roylelab’s favourite tools can be used to develop probes to tackle key questions for understanding the #tumour microenvironment. The #clem + endocytosis hot-wiring in spheroids were amazing 🤩

It’s been a joy to follow my DTP colleague + friend Will Scott’s journey on using genetic code expansion + #clickchemistry to develop new tools for imaging #actin. I’m looking forward to seeing this probe in cells soon! #cellbiology

Happy #FluorescenceFriday! Imaging endosomes always brings me joy! 🔬🪩 #cellbiology #microscopy

@clathrin and I had a great time at #celldyn2023! Feeling inspired by the beautiful microscopic world inside our cells + the new tools we can use to explore it! Excited to apply ideas from the fruitful discussions back in the lab 🔬

Thanks to @J_Cell_Sci @Co_Biologists for the opportunity to discuss @roylelab efforts to understand Intracellular Nanovesicles! Where are they going? What are they doing? Look forward to sharing updates at future events! #cellbiology #microscopy

Spent the afternoon in the #microscopy room, seeking meaning in patterns of multi-coloured dots again…sadly, falling prey to some wishful thinking along the way 🙃

Are you curious about what these pink and green dots are? Come to chat to @clathrin and I at the upcoming @J_Cell_Sci ‘Imaging Cell Dynamics’ meeting in Lisbon, where I will be presenting a poster!

Yesterday we @roylelab celebrated 125 years since the discovery of the Golgi with Italian snacks from my recent trip to Rome with @simonecoppola! Feat. a cuddly Golgi borrowed from a mini @clathrin and Golgi earrings gifted to me by my colleague and friend Thilani! Thanks to fellow Golgi fans Felix Campelo and Ishier Raote for the inspiration - I might make this a yearly thing!

I was happy to see our lab’s ‘At a Glance’ poster about tools for imaging dynamic cell processes out in @J_Cell_Sci over my Easter break and to hear that people are engaging with it from @clathrin!

I learnt a lot from putting it together and am proud to share authorship with my @roylelab colleagues: Meghane Sittewelle, @NFerrandiz and supervisor Steve who have been teaching me how to put these tools into action!🔬

It’s a wrap for the Ambassadors for Better Research Culture #InternationalWomensDay event #WarwickUni ! Thanks again to all the panelists: attendees praised your openness, honesty, positivity + were encouraged by your perseverance in your careers! You reaffirmed that it’s possible to succeed as #academicmum to our audience #womeninSTEM #RoleModel

I’m proud to chair this event and to have my @roylelab colleague @NFerrandiz as a speaker, as well as other researchers and group leaders from Warwick Medical School, who are excellent #RoleModel at work and at home.

As someone whose earliest memories are watching mass spec run progress readouts at the machine as my mum was running her samples, asking, ‘can I watch the stars run across the screen?’ the topic of the discussion is close to my heart.
